There is no law the Supreme Court can legally and Constitutionally use to approve of gay unions. Some States have already passed laws that legally define marriage or unions as between a man and a woman. Appealing to interracial marriage is ludicrous since such marriages are between a man and a woman. The Supreme Court does not have the Constitutional authority to redefine marriage or civil unions.
Yes, gay men and lesbian women date, but unless the whole scene has changed in the last 25 years very few gay men get to know their sexual partners before they hop into bed. The lifestyle is promiscuous and one night stands are more common than even short-term relationships. Gay baths are common in major cities; the travel guide for gay men lists locations in countries where anonymous sex can be found; and as McKellar pointed out in his article long-term monogamous relationships are few and far between. The idea that the gay community is as Julie pictures it is a result of the gay community itself. In the 1980's when some cities closed down the gay baths gay's rioted claiming they had the right to their sex. Visit any major city during gay pride week and watch the antics on the streets, or visit New Orleans during Mardi Gras. The dark side of gay life is S&M. If they color code is still in use avoid any man with a black, dark brown, or yellow hankerchief. These involve scatology, S&M, and water sports. The average lesbian relationship does not last as long as the average gay relationship. It is like trying to force the positive pole of two magnets together they will force each other apart.
