Hebrews 6
4. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5. And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6. If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Explain this?

Can a man of Christ fall? Define fall? Does it mean that one turns away from God and do his own thing? Or is it when man makes decisions without God, thinking that he is doing the will of God? Or is it when man sins, he has to be renewed?
I have heard testimonies that people were saved and then later slipped into worldly ways which would defile one's heart and then later on in life, repents and returns to Christ. I always thought of those testimonies that they were not really saved in the first place but now they are.

The 6 Steps to apostasy from Hebrew 3 and 4.
Not listening to God/Holy Spirit.
7. Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
Our hearts become hardened and cold thru sin.
13. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
A hardened heart produces unbelief and a Departure from God
12. Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
The open rebellion againist God
8. Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9. When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
No regard for God, His Word, etc
10. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
Then Apostasy; no faith in God and they shall not enter the promise land (HEAVEN)!
11. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.
-----------------------------------
To us Christians.
1. Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of us should seem to come short of it.
2. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them.....
