Men with Long Hair in the Church

Postby webmaster » Wed May 14, 2003 11:55 pm

Tell me how many young men have been run-ned out of churches by people who cast Judgment upon them for having long hair?

The young man is under NO yoke of bondage to cut his hair until God puts it upon his heart.

Neither does it have anything to do with salvation!
Neither is it to be brought up to the unsaved!
To do such makes you no better then the Pharisee's!

If the person wishes to grow their hair out to the Glory of the Lord then let it be and keep silent. For that is between God and the Man.

The same applies to the women and short hair.

Anybody who rebukes a man for having long hair should be rebuked before the entire congregation!

Any man who cuts his long hair out of obedience unto the Lord shall find prayers answered, grace and increased blessings from the Lord of Host!

But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

litigious; perverse; peevish. -- {Con*ten"tious*ly},
adv. -- {Con*ten"tious*ness}, n.

From WordNet (r) 1.7 [wn]

contentious
adj 1: inclined or showing an inclination to dispute or disagree,
even to engage in law suits; "a style described as
abrasive and contentious"; "a disputatious lawyer"; "a
litigious and acrimonious spirit" [syn: {disputatious},
{disputative}, {litigious}]
2: involving or likely to cause controversy; "a central and
contentious element of the book"- Tim W.Ferfuson
3: having or showing a ready disposition to fight; "bellicose

1 Corinthians 11

1. Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
2. Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
3. But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
4. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
5. But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
6. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
7. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
8. For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.
9. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
10. For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
11. Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
12. For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
13. Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
14. Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
15. But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
16. But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

1 Corinthians 11

1.
|3402| imitators
|3450| of me
|1096| Be,
|2531| as
|2504| also I
|5547| of Christ.
2.
|1867| I praise
|1161| But
|5209| you,
|3754| because
|3956| all things
|3450| of me
|3415| you recalled,
|2532| and
|2531| as
|3860| I delivered
|5213| to you,
|3588| the
|3862| traditions
|2722| you hold fast.
3.
|2309| I wish
|1161| But
|5209| you
|1492| to know,
|3754| that
|3956| of every
|0435| man
|3588| the
|2776| head
|5547| Christ
|2076| is.
|2776| head
|1161| And
|1135| of a woman,
|3588| the
|0435| man.
|9999| {the}
|2776| head
|1161| And
|5547| of Christ,
|3588| -
|2316| God.
4.
|3956| Every
|0435| man
|4336| praying
|2228| or
|4395| prophesying
|2592| down
|2776| over {his} head
|2192| having,
|2617| shames
|3588| the
|2776| Head
|0846| of him.
5.
|3956| every
|1161| But
|1135| woman
|4336| praying
|2228| or
|4395| prophesying
|0177| uncovered
|3588| with the
|2776| head,
|2617| shames
|3588| the
|2776| head
|1438| of herself,
|1520| one
|1063| for
|2076| it is
|2532| and
|3588| the
|0846| same
|3588| with the
|3587| being shaved.
6.
|1487| if
|1063| For
|3756| not
|2619| is covered
|1135| a woman,
|2532| also
|2751| let her be shorn.
|1487| if
|1161| But
|0149| shameful
|1135| for a woman
|2751| to be shorn
|2228| or
|3587| to be shaved,
|2619| let her be covered.
7.
|0435| a man
|3303| indeed
|1063| For
|3756| not
|3784| ought
|2619| to be covered
|3588| the
|2776| head.
|9999| {The}
|1504| image
|2532| and
|1391| glory
|2316| of God
|5225| being.
|1135| the woman
|1161| But
|1391| glory
|0435| of a man
|2076| is.
8.
|3756| not
|1063| For
|2076| is
|0435| man
|1537| of
|1135| woman
|0235| but
|1135| woman
|1537| of
|0435| man.
9.
|2532| Also
|1063| for
|3756| not
|2936| was created
|0435| man
|1223| because
|3588| of the
|1135| woman,
|0235| but
|1135| woman
|1223| because
|3588| of the
|0435| man.
10.
|1223| Therefore,
|5124| -
|3784| ought
|3588| the
|1135| woman
|1849| authority
|2192| to have
|1909| on
|3588| the
|2776| head
|1223| because
|3588| of the
|0032| angels.
11.
|4133| But
|3777| neither
|0435| man
|5565| without
|1135| woman,
|3777| nor
|1135| woman
|5565| without
|0435| man,
|1722| in
|9999| {the}
|2962| Lord.
12.
|5613| as
|1063| For
|3588| the
|1135| woman
|1537| of
|3588| the
|0435| man,
|3779| so
|2532| also
|3588| the
|0435| man
|1223| through
|3588| the
|1135| woman,
|1161| but
|3956| all things
|1537| of
|3588| -
|2316| God.
13.
|1722| Among
|5213| you
|0846| yourselves
|2919| judge:
|4241| fitting
|2076| Is it
|9999| {for}
|1135| a woman
|0177| uncovered
|3588| to
|2316| God
|4336| to pray?
14.
|2228| Does
|3761| not
|0846| herself
|5449| nature
|1321| teach
|5209| you
|3754| that
|0435| a man
|3303| indeed
|1437| if
|2863| adorns the hair,
|0819| a dishonor
|0846| to him
|2076| it is.
15.
|1135| a woman
|1161| But
|1437| if should
|2863| adorn the hair,
|1391| a glory
|0846| to her
|2076| it is?
|3754| Because
|3588| the
|2864| beautified hair
|0473| instead
|4018| of a veil
|1325| has been given
|0846| to her.
16.
|1487| if
|1161| But
|5100| any
|1380| thinks
|5380| contentious
|1511| to be,
|2249| we
|5108| such
|4914| a custom
|3756| do not
|2192| have,
|3761| neither
|3588| the
|1577| congregations
|3588| of
|2316| God.
