''truly saved''?
Beloved
We are truly saved when we are dead, dead to sin.
Meaning we repent. We don’t want sin to be part of our personal life.
What is Sin?
1 John 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin:
The only way we can be truly saved is to obey the words of Jesus.
He is our Salvation. He will never leave us.
He said repent, be baptized for the remission of sin and you shall receive the Holy Ghost.
He did not tell us to ask him into our heart and we would be saved.
He said repent and follow me.
He submitted to baptism and said it suits us to fulfill all righteousness.
Jesus is the only true pastor we have. All others must be measured against him and his gospel.
The key is the Holy Spirit meaning Spirit Of Truth.
When you are truly saved you have his Holy Spirit.
His Spirit causes us to be repulsed by the sin that once dominated us.
And to have mercy on those who are still in the bondage of sin
In order to resist sin we must have the power of God in our life.
We cannot have the power of God in our life if we still desire the things, cares and affairs of this world.
Obedient self-denial for the sake of the gospel is a requirement for true salvation for if we love him we will keep his commandments.
