Apologetics Forum: Ask questions about Christianity/Debate doctrinescatholicsHistory refutes your claims concerning the Council of Jamnia and the LXX. Now, if you think you can prove from historical records that what I posted is wrong then do it. I brought up Jerome to show that the Catholic canon was not agreed on by all your church fathers. If you knew I was going to bring up Jerome, then why bring up Luther who wanted to reform Catholicism, not start a new church that opposed Rome? Luther wrote as a Catholic, not as a Protestant reformer. German nobles who wanted to break the hold of the Papacy jumped on Luther's desire to reform Catholicicm to start a new church. All anyone has to do to expose the truth concerning Catholicism's "holy traditions" as the traditions of men is study the early church councils. There is not a single reference to apostolic authority to confirm the Marian doctrines, an immortal soul, the use of images in worship, and etc. |
