The bible says in 1 Timothy 6:10, "the love of money is the root of all evil", but the world says "money is the root of all evil." To me, this shows yet another misunderstanding the world has of God. I will say misunderstanding if it is not intentional. However, if it is intentional, I will say the world is misrepresenting God.
You know the cliche', the world views God as some kind of guy in the sky that will punish you for any reason. That's why you have those who come on this forum and wrongfully blame God for "murdering babies".
The bible says that in the last days people will forbid others to marry and eat meats (1 Timothy 4:1-3), as if these things were a sin (whether or not that Timothy verse is talking about unclean or just clean meats, I believe it is including clean meats).
Because of things like that, we have people today who accuse God of teasing us, or shoving pleasure in our face and saying "look, but don't touch." Not only does James disagree with them (James 1:13,14), but the redeemed know that God has given us pleasures to enjoy and it's when we idolize them, or use them in a way God has not designed, then it becomes sinful.
Unfortunately, these "misunderstandings" are not going to change anytime soon. As you can see, things are going to get worse.
