Buddha, Hinduism, Mithraism, Baha'i, & etc.Well, love me all to hell...Sorry to jump in here. I just wanted to suggest the idea that maybe God doesn't love you, Jivatma. I think he actually might, but there is a lot of evidence in the Bible that suggests that God DOESN'T love everyone. He loves and saves His sheep -those he elects and then calls. For example, in Romans 9:11-16 It's not even about who loves God and who doesn't -or who lives good lives or abominable ones. The choice is purely God’s, and man has no authority over his salvation. None. We are all dead in sin. But instead of destroying us all, he has chosen to reach out and save some of us. Jivatma, you have a very valid and important point. – How could a loving God save some and not others? This is something I’m still trying to work out about my own understanding of God. It’s a very hard pill to swallow. I’m still personally working it down. But I think it's important to take what I know to be true and work through the hard parts. I know there is a Creator God and that is the God of Isreal, whose son is Jesus. This I have struggled with and deemed it to be true. Thus I need to know God more. “Faith seeks understanding.” – St. Anselm. In other words: An active love of God seeks a deeper knowledge of God. |
