Apologetics Forum: Ask questions about Christianity/Debate doctrinesWrath In Tribulation
Good Day If you insist First let us take Romans 1:18-21. This would be an incorrect verse to use if you are trying to validate your thesis that Christians are not subject to God’s judgement. For beginners these verses make no distinction between Christians or non- Christians. It states “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;” It says that the wrath is against ALL UNGODLINESS AND UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. This tells me that self-designation is not a shield, because the last time that I checked professed Christians are also capable of ungodliness and unrighteousness. These two adjectives (ungodliness and unrighteousness) are not limited to non-Christians. So this verse does not tell us that Christians are not subject to the wrath of God. Now if you look at Romans 5:8-9 and Thessalonians 1:9-10 the verse states “we shall be saved from wrath through him, and which delivered us from the wrath to come.” What you all have failed to understand is that one cannot be saved from unless one is in. If Christ saves from wrath then this means that you will be in it and he will come to pull or deliver you out of it. For example a lifeguard cannot save you from drowning until you are in the pool drowning. He can’t save you from something that you are not in. The tribulation period is God’s wrath or judgement. If Christ saves before the wrath he then no longer is Deliverer, he then becomes Preventer. The last time that I checked His title is Deliverer and not Preventer. Lets stop right there for now Here are some verses to chew on 1 Corinthians 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 1 Peter 1:17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning [here] in fear: Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. Peace |
