Apologetics Forum: Ask questions about Christianity/Debate doctrinesBaptism and Salvation :: The Church came first, then the BibleThe Church came first, then the Bible The Catholic church did NOT add books. The Jews removed those books AFTER the Church established them. They removed those books because they did not think they were inspired by God since they thought the books were not written in Hebrew. Some of those books/papers/documents were later found in catecombs and were indeed written in Hebrew. Luther just wanted to remove those books because the Hebrew bible did not have them. Luther had no excuse because those books were found in catacombs which indeed were written in Hebrew. As a matter of fact the first print of the King James version of the bible has ALL the books including the Deuterocanonical books (apocryphal books called by Protestants). |
