Vote on a pollWhat is atheism?I think this is probably because most Christians (and most anyone who believes in any religion) find it impossible to believe that anyone can not believe in something. Atheists don't believe in any type of god, right? If that is true, then legitimate questions are: who makes the rules of right and wrong, and who determines truth? Most atheists I've ever met say that truth and the guidelines of right and wrong are relative, therefore, it is up the each individual to determine their own truth and their own right and wrong. To believe that you make your own rules is a form of religion in itself. Therefore, atheists, even though they say they don't believe in god (a universal god, to be more specific), really do believe in a god (though that god's scope is limited only to that atheist, or perhaps to that atheists' society/culture) - themselves. Hope that makes sense. |
