Muslim & Christian Discussion ForumPlease try and convince me otherwise. :: replyreply Is this your answer, that its not pedophilia, its a time-period norm? 2. Would you consider the extreme and vicious violence as described in the OT as terrorism? Was God okay in doing what He did for that time period? ie. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. (Ezekiel 9:5-7) Would you also agree that the violence that is incited in the OT is in fact far more atrocious and vicious than what is depicted in Quranic scriptures? In the times of war, according to strict words given by the Prophet of Islam, killing women, children, and old people was HARAM - forbidden. Burning down houses, and cities, was also HARAM - forbidden. This is recorded in the most authentic collection of Hadith. The Bible commanded to kill women and children mercilessly. Islam prohibited it strictly. You decide .... It was only until Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden that radicals arose ..... prove me otherwise ..... Maybe not 20 years, but there is a time for everything, and whenever God decress peace, its will come, I am a firm believer in that ... Are you kidding me? Muslims have been condemning it since day 1!!! But no one is there to listen ... A Fatwa was given against the acts and actors of terrorism: http://www.islamicity.com/articles/Arti ... C0507-2757 CAIR, ICNA, MSA and ISNA, as well as overseas organizations have consistantly spoken against terrorism ... I know Jesus did, but my point was that Christians need to stop acting like the 10 commandments are theirs to follow when they're not! To many are ignorant of the fact that Jesus did discard (abrogate) the 10 commandments and summerized God's commandments into two of his own .... Now to conclude, allow me to give you verses of the Quran proving that Islam teaches peace and tolerance, yet to stand up and defend yourselves when absolutly neccessary (kind of an inbetween of what Jesus said about patience and turning the other cheek and the eye for an eye Moses taught) ..... And slay these transgressors wherever you meet them and drive them out from where they have driven you out; for persecution is worst than slaying. (2:192) And fight them until there is no persecution, and (make the effort that) religion is professed only for Allah. But if they desist, then remember that no hostility is allowed except against the wrongdoers. (2:193) These two verses explain that the pagans at the time were persecuting the Muslims, and as the verse says, persecution is worse than slaying or killing .... This verse clearly shows that the pagans were fighting and persecuting the Muslims, and it was important to end this persecution, therefore God commanded the Muslims to fight in defense against those who fight against you, and persecute you .... BUT, the end of the verse clearly states But if they desist, then remember that no hostility is allowed except against the wrongdoers. This message is given elsewhere in the Quran as well: And fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but do not transgress. Surely, Allah loves not the transgressors. (2:190) And look at this commandment of God: Allah forbids you not respecting those who have not fought against you on account of your religion, and who have not driven you out from your homes, that you be kind to them and deal equitably with them; surely, Allah loves those who are equitable. ( 60:8 ) This prohibition, or as God commanded in His words "Allah FORBIDS", very clearly gives the Islamic position! That we are commanded to RESPECT those who have not fought against us, and failure to respect such people is an act of disobedience to Allah, because Allah has FORBIDDEN you from not respecting such people, who have not fought against you or driven you out from your homes ..... then Allah commands, that we HAVE to be kind to them and deal equitably with them ....... So why does the Quran say do not keep friends with Jews and Christians and then in the above verse says you have to be kind to the good Jews and Christians who are not persecuting you? Read the next verse: Allah only forbids you respecting those who have fought against you on account of your religion and have driven you out of your homes, and have helped others in driving you out, that you make friends with them, and whosoever makes friends with them - it is these that are transgressors. (60:9) What it means about making friends or allies with people who are committing acts of persecution and injustice towards your Muslims brothers, that it is an act of betrayal to your brothers and sisters in faith, that you would made friends with such people and be okay with such people, who have driven you out from your homes and persecuted you and fought you ..... You see one needs to put the ENTIRE Quran into context in order to understand the message that God is trying to portray and WHY He, God, is saying what He is saying .... So, other than being kind and respectful to the nice disbelievers, if we invite them to Islam and they resist, what should we do? To this religion, then, do thou invite mankind. And be thou steadfast in it as thou art commanded, and follow not their evil inclinations, but say, 'I believe in whatever book Allah has sent down, and I am commanded to judge justly between you; Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us is the reward what we do, and for you the reward of what you do. There is no quarrel between us and you. Allah will gather us together, and to Him is the return.' (42:15) Many people of the Book wish, that, after you have believed, they could turn you again into disbelievers; But forgive and overlook till Allah brings His decree. Surely Allah has the power to do all that He wills. (2:109) Say, 'O you disbelievers! 'I worship not as you worship, 'Nor do you worship as I worship. 'Nor do I worship those that you worship, 'Nor do you worship Him Whom I worship. 'For you your religion, and for me my religion. (Sura Al Kafiroon, Chapter 109) God commands Prophet Mohammed (sa) and the Muslims in this verse to SAY (Qul) to the disbelievers ... for you your religion and for me my religion ..... And finally the verse that everybody knows : There is NO compulsion in religion (choosing your way of life), verily the truth has been made distinct from falsehood (2:256) ... Hope this opens up your eyes to what Islam teaches ..... |
