Science, Creation & EvolutionThe dangers of EvolutionPosted by Aineo : Sigh….wrong again Aineo. Scientist generally refer to probabilities when they have strong evidence, NOT 100% proof, that an event occurred. They deliberately use wording like “the evidence shows humans and chimpanzees most probably last shared a common ancestor about six million years ago”, instead of claiming certainty. By doing so, they are being intellectually honest enough to admit there is a chance that the conclusions may be changed by later evidence. No scam, just intellectual honesty – an alien concept for most Creationists for sure. Look, it’s like this. I’ve got nothing personal against you, but you open yourself up to harsh criticism when you continually preach about things you don’t know squat about. Suppose I ran a Bible discussion board, and was talking nonsense and trash about the Book. It would soon become readily apparent that I had never read the Bible, had never read any works by scholars who have studied the Bible, and was getting all my misinformation from some crackpot atheist website. I’d deserve scorn and ridicule, wouldn’t I? Well, you’re doing exactly the same thing when it comes to the science supporting the ToE. It’s readily apparent that you’ve never studied the science behind ToE, you don’t understand the most basic concepts involved, you are getting all your mis-information from crackpot Creationist sources like AIG and ICR. Does that help you understand why you are getting such a drubbing from the scientifically literate folks posting here? One of the hardest things to do in life is to reach the point where you can critically analyze yourself, and realize that you can be wrong. Here’s a hint – you ain’t there yet. Tiggy |
