Homosexual Discussion ForumSlavery and Homosexualitybut he specifically said the word "God". He didn't say a representative. At the very LEAST you would have to say that it is an apparent contradiction based on incomplete information. Yes, but the people out there that are DIRECTLY trying to influence laws based on their Christian belief are FORCING me to concern myself. They are putting themselves up as an obstacle. This is why it's wrong. They are trying to legislate their Chrisitian principles into law by denying such things as civil marriage. False? How is it false? What else would you call it? Is it not his personal interpretation of the scripture? I HAVE read the entire Bible. It was an extremely long read, but I read it beginning to end. I have no desire to read his entire commentary because it's too time intensive. It's a lot simpler to deal with specific parts and figure out an answer about those. I don't need to disprove the ENTIRE Bible to have a point against it being inerrant. Only selected things are needed. Then individual quotes are meaningless by that atittude. How is context going to change specific lines that contradict each other? If a statement is made, and another statement that is directly opposite or contradictory to the previous one, then it's an error. There is no way to refute this simple logic. It's no different then me stating in one post: The earth is something we can never know anything about. And in another: We will eventually discover all the secrets the earth holds. Those two sentences are contradictory. They can't BOTH be true. In the same way, many things in the Bible make the same error. They cannot BOTH be true. This is the simplest definition of contradiction. |
