Science, Creation & EvolutionEvolution Stickers To Be Removed From TextbooksOf course. And they have. Search the website and see for yourself. They don't just make an arbitrary statement. They give reasons with links to studies detailing all of the published research. http://www.apa.org/pi/lgbc/publications ... facts.html So where is yours to the contrary? If you're going to fight science, fight it with science. Show all the studies that are published, peer reviewed, and ACCEPTED for being evidential. The decision to REMOVE it was based on sound science. What's lacking is the original science that would justify it being placed there. As I already stated, the early days of medical science were still hampered by the time they were forming. Free speech was nowhere near a true reality at that time, and the heavy handed influence of the ruling powers was a serious factor in what was allowed to be studied objectively, and ESPECIALLY so in what was publicly proclaimed or discussed. I have enough respect for your intelligence to know you can see this. You are capable of reason when you choose to ignore personal prejudices that colour your viewpoint. You have shown that to me in certain tidbits thoughout these posts, but since you have not come forth with any original evidence in support of homosexuality being deemed a disorder, it's a good bet that you don't have any to further your point. If this is the case, abandon that part of it and continue to show me the reason why you think it should be put back in. I'll listen and see if I can agree. Fair enough? Of this I have no doubt. Psychology is a very tenous branch of science at best. It's not as falsifiable as other branches. But it's only a small part of the medical consensus. As that link I posted above stated, there are many organizations involved that also concur with the APA. American Academy of Pediatrics American Counseling Association American Association of School Administrators American Federation of Teachers American Psychological Association American School Health Association Interfaith Alliance Foundation National Association of School Psychologists National Association of Social Workers National Education Association But ultimately, the burden of proof is not based on whether something is either good or bad. Everything has to be first premised to be NEUTRAL until evidence shows otherwise. So to be able to truly verify a position one way or the other, give specifics as to why you believe that it is evidentially wrong, harmful and/or undesirable as an inherent condition. Then the specifics can be addressed. |
