Homosexual Discussion ForumAny-sexuality IIMarriage is not a license to spiritually justify lust. I have not said that procreation is the only purpose of sex. All I am saying is that sex should have the primary purpose of procreation. The other purposes will be there by design as well, i.e.: sensual pleasure, orgasm, emotional feeling of closeness, etc, etc. But those feelings in themselves do not rationalize spiritual living just because of marriage. Marriage means family life. It is *understandable* that a newly married couple in this age and society will engage in sexual acts simply for pleasure, but the idea is to eventually become free from that attachment. Being attached to God is the ultimate goal of life. God allows us to have our enjoyment as long as we want it here, but His final word is that we should give up trying to be enjoyers ourselves and seek to be in His service. God is the only real Enjoyer, and by seeking to be His enjoyed people, we too become enjoyers by God's natural design. Enjoyment of the genitals (in married life or not) is us trying to be (at that particular moment) our own Gods. Sex for begetting and raising a child to love God is God's purpose. The sexual gratification will always be there, but it is not the primary reason the sexual act is engaged in. |
