God exists outside of time in what some call the "ever-present now", therefore he sees all of time as if it were all happening at the same time. The future and the past are just as present to God as the present is. Since this is true, God has knowledge of everything that is going to happen in what we call the future. However, this does not imply that He defines what happens in the future, only that He knows it. The Bible clearly teaches the doctrine of foreknowledge, but it does not teach anything about "foredefinition." |
