You are 1 small step away from becoming a muslim james!
Also God is spelled with respect son, with a capital G not g!
HAHAHA! Same to you Webmaster as to Linda. Grow up and argue instead of critueing grammatical errors, especiallly when you call someone "son."
And that's another thing, quit the condescension. Calling people "son" is arrogant as heck. If you're going to call people son, then at least TRY to argue with them instead of quoting random scripture. But I guess all evangels think they're hot stuff and they "know" God. BS. Give me a break. If you REALLY knew God (I'm not saying I do, but I know what He is NOT) then you would be more worried about the horrible war and famine throughout the world instead of what consenting adults choose to do with THEIR OWN bodies.
Next thing is...READ THE POSTS!! And respond accordingly. Aineo may be misguided, but at least he will take each of James and I's arguments and answer point-by-point instead of completely not addressing points and say one-liners which mean nothing.
[/quote]So I am misguided, and people who use one liners to back up their opinions are not? Since James has not really responded to my response to his post would you care to try?
James wrote:First of all let me thank you for your writing. I stayed up very late last night reading my bible and thinking about some of the things you said before I bein I would offer you this on morality given by Paul. Check out Romans 13. "love fulfills the law.
My response:"
Rom 13:8-10
8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. 9 For this, "You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; love therefore is the fulfillment of the law. NAS
What Paul is teaching here is that if you love your neighbor you will not covet his possession, kill him, steal from him, or violate the provisions of the law. One of the provisions of the law is Lev 18:22 'You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. NAS So if you love your neighbor you
will not engage in same-sex relationships. You are establishing my side of this debate.
James' rebuttal:
James wrote:You know what else is law according to you Aineo, isolating someone with a STD, refraining from going near a woman who is menstruating. It seems that you miss the entire spiritual revolution brought on by Christ.
Apparently James is not reading the posts either since I posted this before he accused me of avoiding people with STD's
Acts 15:22-29
22 Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole church, to choose men from among them to send to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas-- Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, leading men among the brethren, 23 and they sent this letter by them,
"The apostles and the brethren who are elders, to the brethren in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia who are from the Gentiles, greetings.
24 "Since we have heard that some of our number to whom we gave no instruction have disturbed you with their words, unsettling your souls, 25 it seemed good to us, having become of one mind, to select men to send to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27 "Therefore we have sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will also report the same things by word of mouth.
28 "For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these essentials: 29 that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well. Farewell. " NAS
As to webmaster's use of the word "son", that is a term of affection; if he had used "boy" you would have a reason to complain. webmaster is a parent and parents have a tendency to use "son" and "daughter" when correcting younger people even when they are not their biological children. As to using "G" instead of "g" when to referring to God I agree that this shows disrepect for our Creator. For a professed Christian to do so is worthy of mention.
What consenting adults do in their own homes is none of my business, but when consenting adults throw their private behavior in my face they make it my business and relinquish their right to privacy.
Jesus Christ gave those who believe in Him one new commandment, which is subordinate to the Great Commandment and does not replace the Great Commandment. The new commandment: "Love your neighbor as yourself", the Great Commandment: "You shall love the Lord your God with all you heart, soul, and mind". One issue James has not addressed and no gay theology proponent want to address is what does "Love the Lord your God,” mean. Jesus equates love for Him with keeping His commandments (John 14:15) so it seems logical, at least to me, that love of God indicates we should obey His commandments. So where do we find God's commandments, what is our source of information and knowledge regarding His nature, character, and purpose? The Old Testament or a better translation is the Old Covenant. Since both testament and covenant are legal, not religious terms what we have is a legal agreement between God and man, the provisions of which are found in only one document, the Bible. A testament or covenant is made by one individual for the benefit of others, therefore the Old and New Testaments (Covenants) are written by God for man, not the other way around.
The New Testament or Covenant is a codicil of the Old. Do you know what a "codicil" is? For those who don't it is a document that amends, does not annul a will or legal contract. With the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, He amended the punishment and sacrificial provisions of the Old Covenant for our time on this earth; He did not annul or abolish the definition of sin or its eternal consequences. In fact part of this codicil defines sin in more detail by adding motivation as equal to the actual act, therefore lust = adultery, anger = murder, etc. To continue this legal simile, it will be probated after Christ's millennial rule at the judgment seat of God.
As to throwing our random Scriptures, James and others don’t even do that; they resort to sarcasm and disguise name-calling as debate. So, Guest, you need to take your own advise.
