Leviticus- still to be followed?
I have one question (for anyone, but mainly Aineo): Do you follow ALL of Leviticus that has not been directly renounced in the New Testament?
I understand that the dietary laws were rescinded
But can you cite the passage where the New Testament takes back:
(All my cites are from KJV)
1) The practice of slaughtering animals as offerings?
(Begining Leviticus 3:1)
And if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offer it of the herd; whether it be a male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before the LORD.
2) The period of seperation for women after they give birth? (one week for a boy two for a girl?)
(Begining Leviticus 12:2)
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean.
3) The commandment that men cannot cut their hair or their beards?
(Leviticus 19:27)
Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
4) The commandment of expelling members of the community if they engage in sexual intercourse while the woman in menstruating?
(Leviticus 20:18)
And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.
5) The prohibition of making interest on loans?
(Leviticus 25:37)
Thou shalt not give him thy money upon usury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase.
There are more... I can continue to post them, if you don't think these are sufficient to show that not all of Leviticus can possibly be taken literally.
-Thanks for your time
