Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 38:8-10 And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother. And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother. And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.
The instructions to "be fruitful and replenish the earth" was given to Adam and Eve. Onan broke a specific law and does not apply today unless you propose to impregnate a dead brother's wife.
1 Cor 7:8-10
8 But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them if they remain even as I. 9 But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn. NAS
Paul's instructions to the Body of Christ does not refer to producing children. What has self-control to do with not producing offspring? Since Paul was not married was he violating God's command "to be fruitful and replenish the earth"?
BTW, why do you suppose the KJV translators used "replenish" the earth? Does this mean mankind was on earth before Adam and Eve?
