With all due respect Aineo, if the hormone imbalance you are referring to is androgen production problems during gestations you may be mistaken. This is “gay” science theory that has no basis in fact.
Over production and under production of androgen during gestation causes syndromes of abnormal sex differentiation (aka intersex disorder). Ambiguous external genitalia develops in females when the external genital structures are exposed to greater-than-normal amounts of male hormones resulting in masculinized females or in males when less-than-normal amounts of male hormones resulting in under-masculinized males. External genitalia develops in a manner that is neither female nor male, but rather is somewhere in between the two.
Some “gay” science theories speculate that under production and over production of androgen have an affect on the hypothalamus causing homosexuality. This cannot be true because one or the other will cause an intersex disorder. Further evidence is that we don’t see higher rates than normal of homosexuality practiced in the intersex community.
