These verses are not "together" nor intended to be, hence should not be considered together in any respect. These are 2 separate verses discussing a topic, and they clearly contradict each other.
The question posed in the second verse is a rhetorical question to indicate the absurdity of claiming a son when one has no consort.
Then genetic link is not what is questioned in these verses, but the likelyhood of Allah having a son. The second verse is trying to point out the absurdity of a son without a wife or consort. Any attempt to skirt that issue is clearly an attempt to skirt the fact of what is said.
