Do you consider yourself to be LaVeyan in philosophy or actual religion out of curiosity?
I actually live a very Satanic lifestyle. I do what I want, I learn without guilt, and I am responsible for all my actions.
but to be frank LaVay (before he even decided to turn it into religion in an attempt to give more momentum to his effort to change the world) was not merely heavily influenced by Nietzsche but concucted his 'satanism' almost entirely it seems from Nietzsche's ideas (as well as, less primarily, a couple of other philosophers).
That's why I like Satanism. I was into Nietzsche before I was into Satanism.
So since the word 'satanism' is so blithely misunderstood 90% of the time - and I don't really want to have this cast upon me, glamorous though it may be seen by some - I've opted not to apply the word 'satanist' to my personal philosophy any more.
Oh well if you saw me you would understand why I completely love the attention it gets me. I am a woman to be noticed in all areas. So I am up for what comes from it. Those who are worthy of my explanation learn. Those not I just throw the Devil sign and hiss then giggle as they pass. Satanism is a philosophy of pleasure. There is no need for it to be so serious. Even Anton had a great sense of humor.
& that way you don't get so many people making assumptions like "OH you're obviously really bitter about something or other & you're really angry with the world & you surely listen to appalling death metal & you take drugs & try to be as nasty as possible & pretend not to have a super-ego [moral influence] & blah blah blah oh why don't you find piece in yourself!
Trust me. People in my real life don't say that to me. They are usually too intimidated. They pretty much leave me alone.
