Bible StudyWould I be correct in saying this? The rest of the story is given in Gen 22:1-5, Yes, it certainly was a test by God for Abraham to actually offer his son Isaac "as a burnt offering." Burnt offerings are not offered without the death of the sacrifice being offered. The incredible faith of Abraham that is often overlooked is that he said, "we will worship and return to you." Abraham believed that when he offered Isaac as a burnt offering sacrifice to God, it was an act of worship and that God would bring him back to life again. This was the incredible worshipping faith of Abraham to believe the life of Isaac was totally in God's hands, not in Abraham's knife hand. What a wonderful redeeming Savior we serve at this Christmas season! Blessings |
