Abortion Memorial ServiceBabies Saved!Don’t kid yourself, Geshtinnanna. Just because I did not expressly ask your opinion on this matter does not mean that I don’t have the ability to look at what you’ve written in other posts and make a pretty good assumption as to what your opinions are. You posted in another thread: It’s pretty clear to me from this paragraph that you feel an abortion is right for you if any of a number of situations are true that would end up in you or your child having a difficult life: “I don't want to pass on my genetic makeup onto anyone else. Not with all the illnesses that are genetic in my family.”; “I am not prepared to be a mother”; “Also my body cannot handle being pregnant…. it would be a very complicated pregnancy”; “I need to live somewhere. I would not be able to live somewhere without paying rent.” These are reasons you gave as to why you would have an abortion. I fail to see how I am unjustified in thinking that you believe it’s ok to abort a child if you think there’s any chance it might not have any semblance of a “normal” life (and please don’t get hung up on the word “normal” – that’s why it’s in quotes). In your own words, you said you believe it’s better for you to have an abortion than to let the baby live if the baby might have some genetic problems, or if you don’t think you’ll be a good mother, or if the pregnancy might be complicated, of if you think you might not be able to provide for it. Please show me where what I assumed about your beliefs was such a huge “false accusation”. From what I’ve gathered, you think abortion is ok for you if the child’s well-being is in some perceived jeopardy, or if it’s life will have a detrimental affect on your current life. Am I wrong? Truth be told, I probably wouldn't have posted anything at all in this thread if you had just written: But you chose to add a string of other questions that implied (to me, at least) that it's better to abort a child if you don't think you can care for it. The way you were asking questions made it sound like you were saying that the efforts of lifeandliberty have done more harm than good if all they've done is stop an abortion, without taking the time and effort to care for the child/family afterward. So in my mind, the way you posted belies the “genuine sincerity” that you claim to have had in your post. So you’re making an assumption on my character and belief based on one post? Looks like I’m not the only one who needs to “not assume ignorant thoughts about people and their opinions you obviously have not asked about.” You can assume whatever you want about me (even though I, apparently, cannot make any assumptions about you). What you shouldn’t do, though, is assume that Christianity is to blame for my thoughts. If you want to judge Christianity, you should not judge it by what you see in me, because I’m not perfect. You should judge Christianity by what you find in the Bible because that’s the source of Christianity. I’m not ashamed of examining your posts and coming up with a reasonable assumption of what you belief. The fact that you can’t accept that I did that is something you should be ashamed of. But it’s ok for you to bully me if you feel I’ve made a “false accusation”? Well, I guess I should expect that from a Satanist whose belief is to think of herself first. Then I won’t be expecting any loose change from you in my “Tips” jar. |
