ArchivedChristian Gnosticism
Do you say that because Gnostic scriptures contain parallels with Greek religion and mysticism? It could equally be said that Mesopotamian beliefs were imported into the Israelite religion amalgamating into Judaism. The Torah was penned by the scribe Ezra when in Babylon and there is no historical evidence that the Torah ever existed before Ezra. It doesn't surprise me that Gnosticism has parallels with Greek stuff because parallels can be drawn between all the ancient pantheons since they all have a common heritage. Have you ever wondered about the flood. Some Christians contend that since 'Every' culture has a story about the flood it must have happened. Using the same argument 'Every' culture has a God and a Goddess so it must be true. |
