Evidence for ID and creationWhere is the evidence?Natural selction is direction yes, it always pushes a population toward being better fit in its environment. However it is not the only force at work.. There are several others, including mate selection, random enetic drift due to sameling errors in populations of finite size, and mutation, which by itself increases the variance in a population. Gene pools are not static there is not a "gene pool" per se. Eacdh individual organism has a set genetic code, but during replication of its gametes there are copying errors these copying erros happen at a rate in vertebretes of between 1x10^-6 and 1x10^7 PER LOCI or gene coding for a specific trait per replication, per potential gamete. It may not look high, but it is enough to keep selection and genetic drift from taking a population to one immutable genetic profile thus allowing for variation. Heck, point mutations can have a dramatic effect on organisms, synonamys mutations have no effect because even though they change an RNA/DNA base the 3 base codon codes for the same amino acid. While misense mutations change the amino acid and thus alter the coded protiens conformational shape. This could have an effect on the protiens function and either harm or help the organism. Deletions or additions delete a base and thus throw all codons out of whack creating entirely different protiesn. These are usually deleterious but not always. If they happen to create a stop codon they create a truncated protien. DO they? Have a source for this? SOmetimes they increase efficiency, or cause a mutation in the genes that code for CD4 thus granting HIV immunity. Your arguemnt falls flat. |
