Hello friends,
As I read I began thinking, how is it that Christ, God Himself could share the true truth with others who believed they knew better then that carpenter's son?
When they tried to trick Him up with questions did He respond with a fist slamming "You Are Wrong" or did He meet question with question?
It seems that in our efforts to share truth, we choose that it is truth as we know it. Christ on the other hand fueled a fire of uncertainty that smoldered within those who heard Him speak. He lived what He taught, and He taught what He lived. He was able to teach perfect peace, perfect communion, and perfect love because He lived it. When we share the Gospel, or as one preacher says, "The too good to be true news" do we speak from experience or from theological education?
The surest way to separate oneself from another is to attack their beliefs, if, however a person ask questions that lead another to a deeper seeking in their beliefs, and that person genuinely desires a relationship with God....
Matthew 7:7,8 "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who ask receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Ask your visitors about the beginnings of their "Movement“, ask them how many JW's there are in the world today, ask them who makes up the 140000? And ask them if you can say a prayer before you began your conversation.
Truth of the matter is that JW's do not believe Jesus is God or even the Holy Son of God. Their Bible was translated by people who had no formal education, their claims of the Kingdom being set up was changed over the years as the time came and left, etc. etc. You will find much if you "seek".
But most important is to proclaim and not argue the Gospel. You know Christ as Lord and Savior, they don't know Him. You follow The Sheppard, they follow a shepherd. Just follow Christ example and shower them with Christian love. Compare your Bible with theirs for every scripture they use and make sure you say that the Bible is your text of reference. "Let God be true and every man a liar"
I pray that this is not confusing, but can be of some use.
