Science, Creation & EvolutionAtlanta Scientist and an Editorial on Evolution vs. IDNitpick: In some parts of the South Pole during winter, the sun never shines, thus there is no 'light' yet a day occurs nonetheless, The concept of day is human beings attempt to understand the earth's rotation around the sun, predict seasonality for planting and tillling the ground and to measure the concept of the passage of time. Regardless, your example I believe kills your argument. If you handed an 8 year old Genesis and said read this as how the earth was formed he/she would understand it just as the man in the Editorial stated not from the perspective of a 61 year old or 36 year old (in my case) College Educated men. Ergo, it's not an effective way to teach Children how the earth was created. You're using semantics as well. Soil or dirt is not in common language refered to as 'Earth' and you know it. Edit: "I'm going to Home Depot today to buy some earth to plant my garden." or "I'm going to Home Depot to day to get some soil to plant my garden" No one uses the 1st in common language. |
