Trinity DebateTrinity debate
The Father was in Jesus on earth: Jesus stated that the Father was in Him while He was a man on earth. "...that the Father is in Me, and I in Him." (John 10:38) "Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in Me..." (John 16:38) The Father was existant in heaven as Jesus was on earth: Jesus stated that the Father was in heaven while He Himself was on earth. "...for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but My Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 16:17) Therefore, the Bible states clearly that the Father (Spirit) was indwelling the body of Jesus (Son) while also being present in heaven at the same time. I had previously quoted what Soloman had to say about God's attribute of being omnipresent but now I will quote David's definition: "Wither shall I go from thy spirit? or wither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there." (Psalm 139:7,8) Here David states that God's Spirit is not limited in being present in one place at a time. Now here is what I stated on this thread, posted: Mon Jan 17, 2005: "The invisible God (the ONE omnipresent Spirit) has taken on the visible form (Son) on an ongoing basis. So what we now have then is the invisible form co-existing with the visible form at the same time." Now here is what Aineo said in the thread: "Is Jesus Really God?", posted: Sat May 22, 2004: "God in human form known as Jesus Christ. Jesus is fully God and has retained His human form in heaven." There is not much difference between what Aineo said as trinity and what I said as Oneness. The only error in Aineo's statement is that he said Jesus has retained His human form in heaven which is not correct. The form Jesus has in heaven is a glorified spirit body like what believers will have after the resurrection of the dead for 1Cor 15:45 states the last Adam [Jesus as a man] was made a quickening spirit. That is why Jesus could appear to Paul on the Damascus road. (A human form could not do that). So what we have in heaven is the ONE omnipresent Spirit (Father - invisible form) co-existing with the glorified body form (Son - visible form). They are not two separate members of a trinity but two forms of the ONE omnipresent God. Here is what Omega said in the thread: "My Father is Greater than I", posted: Sun Oct 17, 2004: "Jesus in His humanity was limited in the sense that He could not be at more than one place at a time". I could not agree with you more Omega according to your quoted statement. You have better understanding of the Oneness doctrine than I thought. The only difference is I say the ONE God and single omnipresent Spirit became a man and you say a second omnipresent Spirit of the Son became a man. But to say a second omnipresent Spirit became a man contradicts the attribute of God being omnipresent because the second member in your trinity was present only at one place in time thus making Him a second God not co-equal but inferior to the Father. In Oneness, the Son refers to the human bodily form God took on and did not exist until that human body was born of Mary. A second member in a trinity did not take on human form but a body was born to house an eternal God. Now here is a quote by Phiz from the thread, "The Father is Greater than I", posted: Thu Oct 28, 2004: "I think the Father is greater than Jesus eternally and not just during the time Jesus lived in earth." This is an example how the trinity promotes Jesus as a lessor and inferior God to the Father. Phiz is trinitarian. I could quote many others from threads who are trinitarian who say basically the same thing. I will respond to your other post as soon as I have time. |
