ArchivedMight you be able to become homo?
more rights and freedoms than other women of their time is not the same as having the same rights and freedoms as they do today. historically, homosexuals have had more rights and freedoms in certain cultures than they have had in others as well. and should those women you mentioned, the Hebrew and Roman matrons, should they have not been given the rights and freedoms they had because they had never before been bestowed on women? an appeal to tradition/history is a very poor reason to deny any group any right or privilege. and another query. in the post your statement originally appears, you talk about gay marriage. gay marriage however does not fall under the category of a right that no culture in history has ever given to homosexuals. several countries/cultures have given homosexuals the right to marry. including massachusetts in the good old USofA. so, since that right cannot be included in that statement, what are the rights that homosexuals are asking for that have never before been granted by any culture? |
