Christian/Muslim ThreadsGod or Allah? Why should I try to refute someone who thinks he understands Quranic Arabic who doesnt even speak Arabic and who doesnt even know Arabic grammar ? He is doing free lance translation when he has no knowledge of the language, then to make it worse he uses a Lexicon produced and based on a sect's beliefs that is abhored by the majority of the Muslim world. Would you like me to go to the hebrew in the Bible showing claims using a Lexicon published by Catholic, or even making reference Catholic dictionary ? AS for your calims of the Quran being a copycat of the Bible, its a matter of opinion. Also I dont know how someone in the right mind would say such a thing when the theology in the Quran is remote from the Bible concept. Also, if the Quran was completely different by all means from the Bible and contradicted it in every instance, what would you say then ? You would say the same as you do now with the only exception you would say: "The Quran is not even simular to the Bible" whereas if it was to come from G-D as claimed then it would at least have simularity to it if the Bible was currupted as claimed. Kai, you obviously are way off on the point and the Islamic concept. You can follow the basic teachings explained in translations of what to do and what not to do etc to live your life as a muslim. When it comes to a scientific or critical approach then no the translations are not worthy of such a thing cause they were not meant for that. The Jews just as us stress to learn the Language in which it was revealed to understand the critical aspects that are limited in translations on the behalf of a scholarly approach. Each translation is a person's individual interpretation which is subject to error. Unlike you, we do not believe our translators were divinely inspired to translate the Quran like you do about the translators of the Bible. Translations and also Tafsirs are mereles ones OPINION and INTERPRETATION, which is the begining for those who are studying their relgion whom cannot approach the Arabic. There are plenty of Muslims who dont understand a single word of Arabic except for their prayers and are more righteous and are better muslims than those who speak Arabic that are muslims. Even my self I envy many brothers and sisters who dont even speak the Language but the way they grasp our religion with love and dedication puts me in awe at times to the point that I feel they are better than me in the sight of Allah cause of their level of faith. Also Kai I was responding to your last respond on the other thread but I lost the whole post response on my system when it froze. I havent fogotten it and I will respond to it, I just didnt feel like righting all that over again . Oh yea and I do have alot of catching up to do on other thread..oops |
