I wonder why the first answer to unexplainable things is always something supernatural.
Humans could not comprehend what caused a volcano to erupt so it had to have something to do with an angry god. When there was thunder and lightning Thor was riding the skies with his hammer.
And there are thousands of other examples...
Only later when volcano eruptions could be explained, we gave those a far less supernatural explenation.
With humanity knowing more, gods became less important. Who cares about Thor nowadays? He was just a fantasy to explain the thunder to this simple creatures back then. Humans seemed so silly back then don't you think?
But aren't we still doing the same these days? Don't we still use gods for things we cannot understand? "Cells are sooo magnificient, I do not understand how those tiny marvellous things could become. It must have been God" "We humans are such complec and wonderful creatures, we must have been made by God"
What is the difference between the wonderful humans and the unexplainable thunder?
