Homosexual Discussion ForumHomosexuality and the Possibility of Change :: Gay men have unique health problems?Gay men have unique health problems? Oh, really? I don't have any unique health problems related to being openly homosexual. And I have never had them either. And since all of the doctors that I have had since March 1993 all know that I am openly gay, too. Are you calling them liars? I started seeing a doctor in 1993 because of arthritis in my knees, intially caused by improper warm up in my Aerobic days at Oral Roberts University and due to having hypertension (high blood pressure) which seems to run in my family. The only reason that I started seeing a licensed and certified mental health professional was that the doctor whom I saw in early 1993 decided it would be helpful if I had a professional to talk to in regard to recovery from grief and bereavement due to the loss of my older brother, Lewis, in 1988 and Ed in 1991. And I was seeing a therapist about coping with such losses when I got beat up and those blows to my head made me disabled. |
