Science, Creation & EvolutionNoah catching his animals...Back from vacation! Sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, I see your point. I guess what I'm really looking for is some kind of Scripture that lends itself to the idea of millions of years, not necessarily dinos living with men. Sure, the word Yom can mean an age, but the fact is that whenever Yom is used in the OT with a number (i.e. 4th day), it always refers to a 24-hr period of time. Your example from Genesis 2, does not fit this pattern, so it can mean an era. true.... Also true. But man's interpretation of that record is not always accurate. That's because there are no "prehistoric periods"!!! Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning. So you are claiming that fossils and fossil fuels take millions of years to form? I would think that bones would deteriorate and vanish, not fossilize, if they were left in the elements for millions of years. I'm going to have to do a bit of research, but I think there have been studies that show that fossils and fossil fuels are formed rather quickly, not over a long period of time. I'll get back to you on that. In the mean time, why don't you tell me how something could be preserved over millions of years in order to end up being fossilized, rather than it just disintegrating. |
