He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Mark 16:16
Mormonism:He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not and is not baptized is condemned.
The Bible says, He that believeth not shall be damned, it does not say that you must be baptized to be saved. Faith is essential for salvation and not baptism as the omission of baptism from the second clause shows.
Anyone who claims that you must be baptized to enter into the Kingdom is in error, belittling the precious blood and sacrifice of the Son of God. Also claiming that the blood of Christ is not sufficient enough to cleanse us from all sins.
If one is physically dirty and covers their body to hide the dirt, the dirt still remains within, if one is cleansed inside then the dirt is removed. Likewise if one gets baptized and inwardly remains sinful regardless of the water, then he still remains filthy. But the blood of Christ cleanses and not covers.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:5
The Water here refers to physical birth and not baptism.
Flesh and spirit oppose each other, being born of the spirit is vital not being submerged in water, however the baptism of the believer shows obedience to the Will of God, as with God the Son's obedient example of how we as children of the Father should live accordingly as.
Also when one is baptized to show true obedience then one has a higher responsibility to to obedience, one must use their talents wisely especially when one is baptized out of true obedience. If after the baptism, showing continual obedience will reap great rewards.
