Typical double-talk of a politician. Ignore what you want to ignore when it is convenient. Rabbi's convinced Jerome the additional books found in the Catholic Bible are not canonical so the RCC decides the Rabbi's don't know their own inspired book but Jerome's improper translation of the Greek into Latin if just fine. Smoke and mirrors and revisionist history are the foundation of some Catholic catechism.
Again, the Jews did not define a canon of their Scriptures until 70 AD, but that is after the coming of the Messiah. Thus, in 70 AD, the Jews were no longer the
true religion, since they had rejected the Messiah.
This is what is known as replacement theology. Christianity is based on the Law and the Prophets.
Ever since Pentecost, the Church of Jesus, that is, the Catholic Church, has been the institution endowed with all authority. Therefore, what the Jews may or may not have decided in a council after Christ, in 70 AD, is irrelevant.
They had lost their status as the true religion when they rejected Jesus Christ. . It has been the Catholic Church, from Pentecost on, which is the true and real "Jewish Church," that is the fulfillment of Judaism.
So what you are saying is God is a liar? The Abrahamic and Davidic covenants are yet to be fulfilled as are all the prophecies regarding the conquering Messiah.
The church has not replaced the Jews and Israel in God's plans for this planet and
all His people.
The Pharisses co-opted the authority of the Levites, which is why Jesus told the people to do what the Pharisees told them to do but not to do what the Pharisees did.
The Jews did not start a new religion they continue to practice the Law and the Prophets and they are still awaiting the conquering Messiah who is fortold in Scripture. The Messiah from whose hands the scepter of David will never pass and who will reign in Jerusalem.
What is your view of Revelation and the 144,000 from the 12 tribes of Israel?
