A celibate priesthood, giving priests the title "father", the immaculate conception, the perpetual virginity of Mary, the assumption of Mary, purgatory, and a long list of other Catholic traditions cannot be found in the Bible and do in fact contradict direct teachings found in Scripture.
Part of the proof for the apostalic succession is:
Isa 22:22
22 "Then I will set the key of the house of David on his shoulder,
When he opens no one will shut,
When he shuts no one will open.
The RCC equates this key with the keys given to Peter. However:
Rev 3:7-8
7 "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write:
He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: 8'I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name. NAS
Here is what you quoted from Scripture:
"Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of
Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the
tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when
they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do
ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
How do Catholics address their priests? Do you not address them as "padre" or "father"?
Matt 23:9-10
9 "And do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. NAS
What are the Biblical requirements for a bishop?
1 Tim 3:1-5
3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
5(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) KJV
How many married bishops are in the RCC?
Purgatory is an un-Biblical tradition, that in fact contradicts Colossians and Hebrews.
