ArchivedMohammed Sinless, Claim Debunked...Peace Scorpion, This hadith is in dealing with those who tired to prevent Islam from spreading to other nations. Since the message had to get out, and the non-Muslims detested the idea, they would try to physically stop the prophet and his companions from entering other lands to preach Islam. This is the message of the hadith. People could accept or decline the invitation of Islam, but they could not stop it from reaching it to those who would be willing to accept it. This is one of the reasons that many of the wars took place. It has nothing to do with forcing conversion. This is not the Islamic way, and Allah prohibits it in the Quran, when He says: “There is no compulsion in religion, for the right way is clearly from the wrong way. Whoever therefore rejects the forces of evil and believes in God, he has taken hold of a support most unfailing, which shall never give way, for God is All Hearing and Knowing.” (2:256) The rest of your quotes have nothing to do with conversions. BTW Surah 9:29, speaks about the tax that non-Muslims had to pay to the state, which was the equivalent of the Zakat that the Muslims had to pay. Peace and Blessings be to the Believers |
