I find the term hate crime an oxymoron. All crimes are committed with hate in mind.
That's all fine and well about crimes committed against gay men, yes, I'm familiar with the Matthew Shepard story.
For the record, I do not condone the murder of any person, regardless of who or what the person is.
What should be asked is, what about gay men who commit crimes? is it morally, even socially acceptable that they be left out for their "condition"?
As I understand it, the two gay men involved with the death of Jesse Dirkhising have been held accountable for this young boy's murder. No, I do NOT think they should be given a "slap on the wrists." Kill someone, regardless of what excuse in the action, you do the time, that's it.
As well as the story is several years old, I didn't even know about it until a friend told me in confidence what happened.
"The Roman Catholic Church made a fortune selling indulgences that allowed divorce and remarriage."
Plus other "sins" as well. It is no secret that that church was, and still is, very political oriented.
Yes, I have been to the Mardi Gras.
Although some gays attend, not just straights.
