response to Barb
Barb thank you for responding to my message and for respecting what Im saying at least enough to reply. First of all I am not a homosexual (not that I would be ashamed to be) but am a heterosexual developing christian who want to combat intolerance in the faith that I see as a remedy for human hatred and cruelty.
First of all you misinterpet or dont reads carefully my post in a few ways. When you talk about the adulterer you assume that it is the same thing as homosexual sex, but there is nothing in the bible that equates them. the reason that many believe adultery is a sin is because they feel it is breaking the oath of matrimony. Maybe Jesus does take a negative view of ADULTERY but this is different then a condemnation of HOMOSEXUALITY. it is important to read this carefully.
As for Leviticus you respond its that so what it's the old testament
what does it matter. It matters a lot. Do you think nothing changes with the birth and resurection of Jesus christ. Maybe it is against the law of moses to lie with another man but guess what so is eating swine, mixing fabrics etc. Ever eat some bacon Barb? According to your take on scripture if you have your just as sinful as thosse gays. I course I dont believe that. Im just using your logic.
As for Romans it is true that ST PAUL may take a critical view of Homosexuality but ST PAul is not Jesus. Paul is a church leader just like a pope might be. If the pope siad like he did during the crusades that musllims were heathens or that heretics should be burned at the stake would you consider this the word of Chrsit too. I sure hope not.
I would be happy to discuss this more you as it stands I dont hink you have said anything that begins to challenge the validity of what I wrote earlier.
Sincerely James
